Does your student look at the world and see opportunities for improvement? If you said YES to any of the above questions, this is the perfect class is for them!

AP Comparative Government and Politics is an introductory college-level course in comparative government and politics. The course uses a comparative approach to examine the political structures; policies; and political, economic, and social challenges of six selected countries: China, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Students cultivate their understanding of each country as they analyze data and text-based sources.

Students explore topics such as power and authority, legitimacy and stability, democratization, internal and external forces, and methods of political analysis. Your student's research and writing skills will be enhanced as the class focuses on four main types of writing:  conceptual analysis, comparative analysis, argumentative evidenced based thesis writing, and quantitative analysis. Students will have the option to take the AP Comparative Government Exam in May.
