Course Overview

Course Details

What if your child could turn a love of Roblox into a genuine love of great stories? Shakespeare meets Roblox in this one-of-a-kind course that makes the Bard's plays feel alive, relevant, and genuinely fun.

Shakespeare, Reimagined Through Roblox

Students explore Shakespeare's most celebrated works - the language, the characters, the themes - while connecting them to the world of Roblox they already know and love. It is the perfect bridge from a game your child chooses on their own to plays that have lasted for centuries.

How the Course Works

We read scenes together, perform improvised adaptations, and analyze characters through a modern lens. Along the way, students discover how Shakespeare's stories about power, love, betrayal, and identity are surprisingly contemporary.

A Safe, Supportive Space to Take Risks

Every session is mentor-moderated, inclusive, and judgment-free, the kind of environment where quirky personalities are encouraged to shine. Kids practice speaking up, listening closely, and building on each other's ideas, so even a shy student feels comfortable stepping into a scene.

What Your Child Will Gain

By the end of the course, your child will have a genuine appreciation for Shakespeare's genius, stronger skills in reading and discussion, and a handful of great stories to tell.

Materials Needed
  • Roblox (free download at roblox.com) installed on your child's device
  • Internet connection

The Social Skills Course They Actually Want to Take

For gifted and 2e kids, traditional social skills programs can feel clinical. This course builds collaboration, communication, and teamwork through something your child genuinely loves. Parents tell us their kids are more willing to compromise, better at working in groups, and more confident socially after just a few weeks.

Real Friendships With Kids Who Get Them

Finding peers who share their interests and understand how they think can be the hardest part of growing up gifted. This course puts your child in a room with kids who get excited about the same things they do. Parents tell us these friendships extend beyond the classroom and last.

What Your Child Will Gain

  • Build collaboration, communication, and teamwork in a way that feels natural and genuinely fun
  • Develop strategic thinking, problem-solving, and creative skills through something they already love
  • Connect with a small group of like-minded peers who share their interests, forming real friendships that extend beyond the classroom
  • Gain social confidence and group interaction skills in an environment where every student feels welcome and understood

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS COURSE

Questions About Roblox Shakespeare: Bardblox

Everything you need to know before enrolling your child.

Why is this course different from other online classes my child has tried?

Most online classes put 20-30 kids in a room with a teacher who reads slides. At YSA, your child joins a group of 8 or fewer students who think like they do, led by a mentor who was often once just like them. Cameras are optional. The content is chosen by passion, not grade level. And 93% of families re-enroll - because kids who have never liked school before fight to log on to YSA.

Can my child join from anywhere?

Yes. YSA families join from 47+ states and 17 countries across 6 continents. All you need is an internet connection. We schedule sections across multiple time zones so families worldwide can find a time that works.

How does this course work?

Roblox Shakespeare: Bardblox meets once per week for 50 minutes, every week from August through December. Your child joins the same tight-knit group of up to 8 students and the same mentor all semester long. Same friends, same mentor, a new challenge every week.

What if my child is not the right age for this course?

Our gifted and 2e students experience such asynchronous development that hard age limits rarely tell the full story. If your student should be aged up or aged down, contact us at support@youngscholarsacademy.org or click the chat in the bottom right corner of the screen. We do this all the time.

What if my child has had a difficult time learning virtually?

Please don't confuse reactive distance learning with what happens at YSA. When a kid is engaged in a course they chose, with a mentor who gets them and peers who share their interests, the screen disappears. They're not on a screen. They're with their people. Parents tell us their children fight to log on to YSA.

What if my child doesn't love this course?

If your child isn't loving a course by the end of the first week, swap into a different course. Same semester. No questions. Not the right fit within the first month? We'll stop payments, switch courses, or issue credit toward any future course. The credit never expires. And you keep every bonus you've received. Over 93% of YSA families don't just stay. They add more courses.

Does my child need to turn their camera on?

No. Cameras are always optional. Always. Many of our students start with cameras off and turn them on when they're comfortable. Our mentors engage every student equally, cameras on or off.

Does my child need a diagnosis to enroll?

No. If you're here, you're in the right place. We don't require paperwork, evaluations, or labels. Whether your child has been formally identified as gifted or twice-exceptional, whether you suspect it but haven't pursued testing, or whether you just know your kid's brain works differently and nothing else has fit, they're welcome here.

Can I use ESA or charter funds for this course?

Yes. YSA is an approved vendor with 10+ state ESA programs including Arizona ESA, Utah Fits All, ClassWallet, My Tech High, Florida Step Up, and others. Enroll directly to secure your child's spot, submit the invoice to your ESA, and your payment method is refunded when funds transfer. Many families pay zero out of pocket.

How do I enroll?

Click "See Available Times" on this page, pick the section that fits your schedule, and your child's spot is secured immediately. No phone call. No placement test. No prerequisite.
