Join Mid-Semester
Rolling Enrollment for Select Courses
Some of our courses are designed so students can join at any point in the semester and still have a great experience. If one of those courses is the right fit, your student can start this week at a prorated price.
Why We’re Careful About This
Our number one goal is to make sure that kids succeed here. The world has been tough to a lot of our students, and we want everything at YSA to be a win.
That means we do not open every course to rolling enrollment. We only offer it for courses where joining mid-semester actually makes sense for the student. These are courses that are non-linear, where new units start every few weeks, so a student joining in week six is starting a fresh topic alongside everyone else.
If a course is linear and builds on previous weeks, we will not enroll a student late, because we don’t want them walking into something where they’re already behind. That’s not a win. We’d rather help you find the right course at the right time.
How Rolling Enrollment Works
- 1
Check which courses are available
Not every course is open for rolling enrollment. Look for courses tagged as “rolling enrollment available” in the catalog. These are the non-linear courses where mid-semester entry is a good fit for students.
- 2
Enroll at the prorated price
Your tuition is adjusted based on how many weeks are left in the semester. You only pay for the weeks your student will attend.
- 3
Start this week
Once enrolled, your student receives their virtual campus access and joins the next scheduled session. Mentors bring new students up to speed so they feel welcome from day one. The patience and care our mentors bring to this is something families notice right away.
Which Courses Qualify?
Rolling enrollment is available for courses that meet two criteria:
- Non-linear structure. The course covers topics or units that don’t depend on previous weeks. A student joining in the middle picks up a new topic with everyone else.
- Prorated enrollment makes sense. The remaining weeks are enough for a student to get real value from the course.
Courses that are linear, cumulative, or deep into a multi-week project sequence are not available for rolling enrollment. We would rather have your student wait for the right starting point than rush them into something where they cannot succeed.

What Parents Ask
Will my student be behind if they join mid-semester?
No. That is the whole point. We only offer rolling enrollment for courses where joining late does not mean falling behind. These courses start new units regularly, so your student enters at the same starting line as everyone else. Mentors allow students to participate however they can, and new students get up to speed quickly.
How is pricing calculated?
We prorate based on the number of weeks remaining in the semester. If 10 weeks remain out of 16, you pay for 10 weeks. No hidden fees, no paying for weeks your student will not attend.
What if the course my student wants is not available for rolling enrollment?
That means joining mid-semester would not be a good experience for your student. We can help you find a course that is available now, or we can make sure your student is first in line when the course opens next semester. Talk to us and we will help you figure out the best path.
Can I switch courses after enrolling?
Yes. Every individual course enrollment comes with our Try It From The Inside Satisfaction Guarantee. If the course is not the right fit, we will work with you to find one that is. Learn more about our guarantee.
What courses are available right now?
Check the catalog for courses tagged as rolling enrollment available. Browse courses now.
Our Promise To You
If you’re not 100% in love with the course, you have options depending on how you enrolled:
Pay In Full Option
You can switch to another course of equal or lesser value that’s a better fit or get a credit to use toward a future course.
Payment Plan Option
You can either get credit toward a future course, switch to another course of equal or lesser value that’s a better fit, or stop all future payments after a 30-day processing period.
No risk. No stress. Just the learning and belonging you have been looking for.
We can offer this because we know what we do works for thousands of other families. Kids become more self-confident. They find their people. And families tell us this is the place where their student finally feels welcome. We know it will work for your family, too.
All-Access Passes have separate terms and conditions. Please see the All-Access Pass pages.
It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway... to qualify for the satisfaction guarantee policy, you have to actually attend the classes. This is not a cancellation policy. It’s a satisfaction guarantee. You can’t be satisfied or dissatisfied if you don’t attend.
