If she is navigating the unique challenges of being gifted or twice-exceptional and longing to connect with others who understand, the Gifted and 2E Girls Social Club is her place. She joins a vibrant group of like-minded peers in a warm, welcoming online setting where fun and friendship always come first. Guided by Ms. Jackson, each weekly session uses playful, intentional activities to help girls grow socially, emotionally, and personally.
This club is not just about games. It is about community, confidence, and connection, and every activity is built with that purpose in mind.
Along the way she practices social skills like active listening and positive communication, connects with peers who share her interests and perspective, joins thoughtful mentor-led games and discussions, celebrates small wins and birthdays and the joy of being part of a group, and learns to navigate group dynamics in a safe, low-pressure space.
Every game is designed to help her shine, speak up, and feel seen. Your daughter gains confidence, builds real friendships, and discovers the joy of connecting with peers who appreciate her exactly as she is.

For gifted and 2e kids, finding peers who understand them can feel impossible. This course puts your child in a room with kids who think like they do, led by a mentor who creates space for genuine connection. Parents tell us this is the first time their child has had friends who truly get them.

Ms. Jackson has been teaching theatre and writing for 30 years and was also a children's performer for ten of those years. She opened a theatre program in her small Oklahoma town in 2016 and has been putting on shows ever since. "Ms. Jackson's Theatre!" puts on a show after every 20 hours of instruction (over 100 shows!). She believes EVERYONE needs and wants to be creative and expressive. Sydney Clemens says "Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else" and my goal is to allow students a safe place to explore and shine and comfortably be themselves. A widow, she solo raised three 2E children who are now adults.

Most online classes put 20-30 kids in a room with a teacher who reads slides. At YSA, your child joins a group of 8 or fewer students who think like they do, led by a mentor who was often once just like them. Cameras are optional. The content is chosen by passion, not grade level. And 93% of families re-enroll - because kids who have never liked school before fight to log on to YSA.

Girls' Club meets once per week for 50 minutes, every week from August through December. Your child joins the same tight-knit group of up to 6 students and the same mentor all semester long. Same friends, same mentor, a new challenge every week.
Our gifted and 2e students experience such asynchronous development that hard age limits rarely tell the full story. If your student should be aged up or aged down, contact us at support@youngscholarsacademy.org or click the chat in the bottom right corner of the screen. We do this all the time.
Please don't confuse reactive distance learning with what happens at YSA. When a kid is engaged in a course they chose, with a mentor who gets them and peers who share their interests, the screen disappears. They're not on a screen. They're with their people.
