Only 6 lucky students get to participate in each quest! In this immersive course, the unfolding story and its captivating complications will ignite the imaginations of our players.
Each student will bring their Adventurer to life, describing their actions, reactions, and even assuming their persona, gestures, and voice. As the quest unfolds, participants will learn the art of collaboration as they work together to solve intricate puzzles, unearth hidden treasures, battle fearsome monsters, and ultimately save the day.
Through these epic adventures, students will not only experience the thrill of exploration and discovery but also develop crucial skills in communication, teamwork, and imaginative play. Please note that our Dungeons and Dragons course offers an intimate experience like no other.
With a limit of only six fortunate students per quest, each participant will receive personalized attention and have ample opportunities to contribute to the unfolding story. Hello there! I'm Teacher Sean and I've been working full time as a Digital Educator for over 4 years now! Yup, since the pandemic. I've can't believe how much fun I've had teaching thousands of kids from around the world about our beautiful planet and the amazing wonders that stretch to each and every corner of our world! I've also had the incredible opportunity to run Dungeons and Dragons adventures for my students for the last 2 years and many of them are still playing in my campaigns to this very day! Students join a live virtual session where the mentor runs the campaign using shared digital tools. No prior D&D experience is required. The game naturally builds social skills, creative problem-solving, collaborative storytelling, and executive function - all in a format that gifted and neurodivergent kids are drawn to. Students engage with the story, make decisions together, and build characters across the semester.
Yes. YSA families join from 47+ states and 17 countries across 6 continents. All you need is an internet connection. We schedule sections across multiple time zones so families worldwide can find a time that works.
D&D Campaign Creator meets once per week for 50 minutes, every week from August through December. Your child joins the same tight-knit group of up to 6 students and the same mentor all semester long. Same friends, same mentor, a new challenge every week.
Our gifted and 2e students experience such asynchronous development that hard age limits rarely tell the full story. If your student should be aged up or aged down, contact us at support@youngscholarsacademy.org or click the chat in the bottom right corner of the screen. We do this all the time.
