Homeschool Belonging · Spring 2027 · Live online classes for gifted or 2e kids, ages 5 to 18
You made the brave call. Now they need their people.
They're learning. They're safe. They're becoming themselves again. Young Scholars Academy gives your homeschooler daytime classes that excite them, kids who think the way they think, and mentors who were kids like them. You get a weekly note on how it's going and records for your charter or portfolio.
- Daytime classes, Pacific Time
- Credit or enrichment
- ESA funds accepted
- 93% of families come back
“We just felt yucky at the beginning of this homeschool journey. It was so hard. We never felt good about anything until we joined this community. We found our home here.”
Nobody warns you about the lonely part of homeschooling.
You're carrying everything.
Curriculum designer, math teacher, social director, emotional support. You love this work. Some days you wonder if there are gaps you can't see.
Thriving academically. Socially? You're worried.
Reading three grades ahead. Friend count: zero. You pulled them out so they could be themselves. "Themselves" doesn't have anyone to talk to.
Programs only see part of who they are.
They need acceleration and support with what's hard. Challenge and patience with big feelings. Most programs aren't built for the whole kid.
There's content you can't teach alone.
Coding? Debate? Biology? You need someone else for that. Not just anyone. Someone who understands your kid.
Your charter wants records.
And you're piecing them together at 10 PM.
You need a partner, not another product.
Not another curriculum or app. A village. Parents who get it. Mentors who see your kid. Friends who don't need the three-hour explanation.
You are doing it right. And you don't have to do it alone.
What if the village came to you?
Picture a Tuesday. At noon, your kid logs into the friendship club and someone says, "Oh good, you're here." At 1, D&D Campaign Creator with kids who've waited all week for it. By the weekend, a note from each mentor tells you exactly how they're doing. And you have a group of parents who never need the three-hour explanation.
That place exists. It's Young Scholars Academy, and it was built for families like yours.
- 1,200+ families since 2020
- 47+ states, 17 countries, 6 continents
- WASC-accredited
- ESA and charter funds accepted
Everything your homeschool week has been missing, in one place.
Content
Hand off the subjects you can't (or don't want to) teach
Live classes in what they love and what you'd rather not teach: writing, science, history, math, coding, debate and more. Take them for credit, with assignments and a grade on an accredited transcript, or purely for enrichment.
Will they engage for someone who isn't me?
“Already, after ONE class, Aaron has declared it is BY FAR the best online course he has and IS taking... He says he is engaged the ENTIRE time.”
Community
Daytime friends, the same kids all spring
6 to 8 kids per class, grouped by age and interest. Take 3 or more classes and a weekly friendship club comes with them. Between classes, the online campus is open every weekday afternoon.
My kid is so quiet in groups.
“It was so wonderful to hear Lincon participating during his class. I knew he was talking because I could hear his voice from the hallway... to hear him engaged really warmed my heart.”
Caring mentors
Mentors who were kids like yours
Many YSA mentors were homeschooled. Many homeschool their own kids right now. They build on strengths, and they let kids join their own way.
My kid says no to everything.
“When we're having a day that is so tough and our kid just says no to everything, the only thing he says yes to is his YSA classes. I'm always blown away.”
Communication
Records without the scramble
Every week, each mentor tells you what your kid worked on and how they're doing. Charter families use these notes for their learning records. Pass families also get a Transcript & Portfolio and an end-of-spring Growth Summary.
Your people, too
Coffee & Connect meetups, a private parent group and live talks with experts on gifted or 2e kids. With any All-Access Pass, the Parent Social Club is free: a weekly hangout with parents who already get it. Your kid finds their people, and so do you.

If a class you choose doesn't have enough students to run, you can swap into alternate class and get 2 weeks FREE or get a full refund!

I want to tell you something nobody tells homeschool parents enough: you were right.
You saw the light going out. Instead of waiting for someone else to fix it, you did the bravest thing a parent can do. You said, "I'll figure this out myself."
I spent most of my life feeling stupid because school only measured what I was bad at. By choosing to homeschool, you already broke that cycle.
Now let us help you carry it. YSA isn't replacing you. It's joining you. It's the village that should have been there from the start.
Mr. Sam Sam Young, M.Ed. · Two-time Fulbright Scholar · TEDx speaker · Founder
P.S. Many of our mentors were homeschooled themselves. Many homeschool their kids right now, and many of those kids take classes at YSA.
Homeschool questions
Can YSA be our core curriculum?
Yes. Many Young Scholars Academy homeschool families build their week around YSA, and the Gold All-Access Pass covers 10 live classes a week. Courses can be taken for credit, with assignments and letter grades on an accredited transcript, or for enrichment.
Are classes during the school day?
Yes. The Young Scholars Academy Spring 2027 schedule includes morning and midday classes for homeschoolers, listed in Pacific Time.
Do the weekly notes work for charter or portfolio records?
Yes. Homeschool and charter families use Young Scholars Academy's weekly progress notes for their learning records, and All-Access Pass families also get a Transcript & Portfolio and an end-of-spring Growth Summary.
Can we use ESA or charter funds?
Yes. Young Scholars Academy is an approved vendor with 10+ state ESA programs, and the Gold All-Access Pass includes ESA Concierge to help you through the process.
How many classes should a homeschooler take?
Choose by your child's capacity more than your budget. Bronze (4 classes a week) suits a lighter load, Silver (6) a fuller week and Gold (10) a full course load.
Do you require a diagnosis?
No. Young Scholars Academy serves gifted or 2e kids ages 5 to 18 with no diagnosis or test scores needed.
